Lucky Draw: As our ethos is around Experiences, we don’t do prizes for placings however a lucky draw with some great prizes will take place after the run so everyone has a chance.
Timing: Runners are required to record their individual time using their own devices if required. Once you cross the finish line please drop your wrist band into the bucket for our virtual lucky draw and write your timing down at the timing zone if needed for points. Timings will be published on our website in the week for Discovery Vitality Point submissions etc
General Information: We have carved out a few new routes within the Lion & Safari Park with the longer distances heading along the Crocodile River. There are a few gradual hill’s but the routes are mostly jeep track and no technical crossings, so you can expect a fairly quick route. As you make your way along the trails, you’ll watch the animals emerge from the bush whilst you enjoy the mesmerising view of the valley & really immerse yourself in the Wild.
Route: The routes will all be signed by Wild Africa Experiences so it’ll be a somewhat challenging but relaxed morning out and we’ve rated the route 3/5 (5 being the most difficult). There will also be two water-points (with a quick craft beer taster of course). Walkers / hikers are more than welcome to join us on the 6km & 10km routes & we cater for all fitness levels.
Medals: Participants will receive a branded wine glass as your medal at the finish line with a deliciously smooth complimentary Pinot wine tasting after the trail (only for runners 18 yrs or older) with at least 3 fabulous wine farms as well as cheese & olive taster. There will also be an optional runners breakfast at Lion & Safari Park after the event.
*** Due to the nature of the venue & game rangers on site, there is a strict 03h00 hour cut off from batch one, ie 09h30. If we feel any runners might not make it, we may need to reroute you.
